If you are looking for a jazz, tap and ballet class in Charlotte, then Dancers Unite is the dance school for you!  We have a jazz, tap and ballet combination dance class offered for two different age groups: Kindergarten/1^st Grade and 2^nd Grade/3^rd Grade.  We have a few class times with spaces still available so if you register your child by March 7^th, then your child can perform a jazz routine, a ballet routine and a tap routine in our annual dance recital.

Teen Beginner Dance Classes in Charlotte North Carolina

If you or your daughter is a teen in Charlotte with little to no dance experience, then Dancers Unite is a great dance studio to start learning dance!  We still have spots left in a few of our Teen Beginner Classes and if you register in the next week, then you can participate in our annual recital!

If you are looking for hip hop dance lessons for your son, then check out Dancers Unite! We have a class just for boys so your son won’t have to worry about dancing with a class full of girls. Boys will learn fast paced clean hip hop choreography and break dancing moves in this high energy class.

Dance Classes for 11 year olds in Charlotte NC

Dancers Unite has great dance classes for 11 year olds here in Charlotte, NC!   If you register between now and March 7^th, then your son or daughter can participate in DU’s annual dance recital on June 3, 2012 at Dana Auditorium in Myers Park!  Some classes are already closed (DU limits class size to ensure every students receives individual attention) but there are spots still open in the following classes:

• Jazz/Hip Hop
• Musical Theater
• Modern
• Ballet
• Beginner Tumbling

Ballet Technique Class in Charlotte NC

Ballet is the foundation of all forms of dance and an important part of our advanced students’ training here at Dancers Unite.  Therefore, we are very excited to add a Ballet Technique Class for advanced students to our schedule.

The class is on Thursday evenings from 5:00-6:00 PM.  The focus of the class is ballet technique, so there will be no choreography in the class and there will be no dance performed in the yearly recital (for more information about our classes that do not focus solely on technique and do perform in the recital, please see our Dance Class Page).

This Ballet Technique class is open to students that are not currently registered at Dancers Unite (however, the students should have years of ballet experience).  The cost per class is $15.  Please email the dance studio for more information.

Myers Park Dance Studio Recital

For those of you who do not already know, our dance studio’s recital this year will be held on Sunday June 3, 2012.  It will once again be held at Dana Auditorium in Myers Park.  The recital will be split up into two performances: one for our older Company Dancer Soloists, and the other recital for the rest of the dance studio.

Even though our dance year started in September, it is not too late for your child to participate in our dance recital.  If your child registers prior to March 7, 2012, then your child is eligible to participate in the yearly dance recital.  Please remember to register as soon as possible though, because some of our dance classes have already been closed (DU limits our class size so that each student will receive individual attention) and more classes may be closed in the next few days.  For more information on which classes your child can register for, please see our Dance Class Page.

Musical Theater Dancing School in Charlotte

If you are looking for a dance studio offering musical theater dancing classes in Charlotte, North Carolina then come to Dancers Unite!  Dancers Unite offers Musical Theater Dance Classes in which students are taught choreography like you might see in a Broadway show.  Additionally, our Competition Team competes musical theater routines in dance competitions.

Additionally, upcoming at our dance studio in April we will be having a Master Class given by a Broadway dancer!  In this Broadway Connection master class, students will learn choreography in the style of the Bring It On musical.

Summer Dance Class for Children in Charlotte

This summer, Dancers Unite will be offering a Ballet/Tap/Jazz combination class on Saturday mornings from 10:30-11:30 AM.  This class is for 5 year olds, 6 year olds and 7 year olds.  It is a great way for students to brush up on their technique over the summer.  Additionally, it is a great way for new students to try out this dance class (we offer a similar Ballet/Tap/Jazz combination dance class in our fall to spring session).

This is a month long dance class that runs August 4^th through August 25^th.  If you register for this class before April 1^st, then you can get an early bird discount!  For more information, please see our Summer Dance Class Page.

Dance Classes for Toddlers in Charlotte

There are a lot of great upcoming dance classes for toddlers at Dancers Unite, as well as wonderful dance classes currently running!

From now until March 7^th, you can register your toddler in one of our already scheduled Dance Classes, provided there is still room available in the class.  Students in these classes will perform both a ballet and tap dance in our yearly recital at Dana Auditorium in the Myers Park neighborhood of Charlotte.

There is also an upcoming Introduction To Dance Class starting in April that runs for 2 months.  This is great for beginner 2 and 3 year olds.  Students in this class will also be able to perform in the recital, but they will perform just one ballet routine with the teacher.

Then this summer, Dancers Unite will be running our Summer Dance Classes & Camps for toddlers!  There will be a Princess Ballet Camp for toddlers who love to dance around like a princess!  Then there will also be a Summer Saturday Dance Class for toddlers in August.  This is a great session for those wanting their child to dance over the summer or for parents wanting to try their child out in a dance class.

If you are looking for hip hop dance lessons in Charlotte, North Carolina then take a look at Dancers Unite.  At my dance studio, we have great hip hop classes starting from kindergarten up through high school.  We have a wonderful dance teacher staff who teach hip hop choreography and break dancing moves.  We also have a separate Boys Only Hip Hop Class for boys who like hip hop but do not wish to be in the same dance class as girls.

Spring Dance Class in Charlotte NC

This spring, Dancers Unite is offering an exciting new Introduction To Dance Course.  The class is for 2 and 3 year olds that are new to dance.  It runs from April 2^nd to May 21^st.  An exciting twist to this Introduction to Dance Class is that on June 3^rd, students in this class can participate in DU’s yearly recital in a ballet dance performed with his or her teacher!

The recital fee, costume fee, and dance classes are all included in one flat fee that can be paid in installments.  Students will also need pink ballet shoes, which can be purchased at the dance studio.

South Charlotte Competition Dance Team News

 Congratulations to the DU Competition Team!  You performed amazing this weekend at our first competition of the season!  We are so proud of you!  You will notice new additions to our trophy case this week from our studio’s wins!

If you would like to support our wonderful competition team, then go to Panda Express on Seneca Place (off South Boulevard) tomorrow from 3 pm to 9 pm.  If you bring in this Competition Team flier, 20% of your purchase will go to our Team!  DU tries to provide our students with many fundraising opportunities throughout the year.

Charlotte Dancing Academy: Important Dates for February

February is a very exciting month at Dancers Unite!  For starters, it is the last full month you can sign up for dance classes in time to be part of our June dance recital at Dana Auditorium in Myers Park, so register for dance classes ASAP! 

There are also many important dates in February for our dance studio:

February 4^th and 5^th: Dance Competition: Our Senior Competition Company competes in our first dance competition of the year!

February 7^th: Competition Company Fundraiser: Eat at the Panda Express on Seneca Place Drive in South Charlotte bringing in this Competition Company flier and our competition team gets 20%!

February 8^th: Belly Dance: Another 5 Week Belly Dance Course begins at DU.

February 11^th and 12^th: Competition Company Fundraiser: We will do a drawing this weekend to determine who wins the beautiful Valentine’s Baskets displayed in the lobby!  Raffle tickets are only 50 cents a piece, so make sure you buy a ticket today!  All proceeds benefit the DU Competition Company.

February 21^st: Latin Dance: Another 6 week Latin Dance Course begins at DU.

February 25^th and 26^th: Dance Competition: Our Senior Competition Company competes in their second competition of the year and our Junior Competition Company competes in their first dance competition of the year!
