Charlotte NC Dance Classes for Older Children

Dancers Unite has many dance class options for 4-6th graders. 

  • African Dance – In this class, students will learn a mixture of different African dances from different parts of Africa.
  • Ballet – In this class, students will learn classical ballet.  There is both a beginner & advanced ballet class option for students of this age.
  • Hip Hop/Jazz Dance – In this class, students will work on both jazz and hip hop technique.  Students will work on everything ranging from classic jazz steps such as jazz square to break dance moves.  Both jazz & hip hop choreography will be taught.
  • Modern Dance – In this class, students will be taught choreography that encourages self-expression and creativity.
  • Musical Theater Dance – The choreography taught in this class will interpret a song from a Broadway or West End show.
  • Strength & Stretch – The teacher in this class will lead students in exercises that will help them on both their strength & flexibility.  This class will help students with other dance forms so there will be no routine for the yearly recital.
  • Tap Dance – In this class, students will work on tap technique and make out sounds and rhythms using their shoes.  Both Rhythm Tap & Broadway Style Tap choreography will be taught.
  • Tumbling – In this class, students will learn tumbling skills such as cartwheels, forward rolls and handstands.  There is both a beginner and an advanced tumbling class option for students of this age.
