Charlotte Ballet Class for Teen Beginners

teen ballet charlotte
I’ve been asked a lot of questions lately about whether or not 16 is too old to start ballet, or to start back ballet after taking lessons years ago. My answer is always no, it is never too late for the advantages of ballet! In fact, at our studio we have a Beginner Teen Ballet Class on Monday evenings from 5:30-6:30 PM. This is the perfect way for you to be introduced or reintroduced to ballet!

Students in this class will need to wear a leotard, tights, and their hair pulled back in a bun. For any other questions about what you can/cannot wear to a Dancers Unite ballet class, please see our Ballet Class Page.

Attention teens in Charlotte! Spend your Tuesday at Dancers Unite! Take Tumbling from 6:00-7:00 PM and then Hip-Hop from 7:00-8:00 PM for a fun, great evening!

In the Tumbling Class, students will work on gymnastics moves like handsprings, walkovers and handstands. All of this takes place on a mat. Then in the Hip-Hop Class, students will do fun upbeat choreography like you would see in music videos as well as work on breakdancing moves which also takes place on a mat. Taking both classes together will mean you could perform in both a tumbling and hip-hop routine in our yearly recital on June 4th, 2011 at Queens University!

For more information on how to register for both classes, please see our Dance Class Registration page.

Belly Dance Class in Charlotte

belly dancing charlotte
Starting in January, Dancers Unite will be offering a 5 week Intermediate Bellydance Course on Wednesday evenings from 7:40 - 8:40 PM. Like our beginner Bellydance course, this class will run for 5 weeks (January 5, 2011 through February 2, 2011).

This class, for those who already have taken beginner level bellydance, will work on perfecting basic techniques as well as adding intermediate techniques, like layering, shimmies and figure 8s. You will also work on improvisation and interpreting primarily Arabic music. The choreography in this class is more complex than the beginner level class, challenging students to use what they learned in both the beginner and intermediate levels of Bellydance.

For those of you with little or no bellydance experience, the beginner class will still be offered on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-7:30 PM.

For more information on how to register for the Intermediate or Beginner Belly Dance class, please see the Charlotte Belly Dance website.

On Tuesday I mentioned some of the things you can buy in our lobby, but that’s not all we are selling. Hanging on one of the Christmas trees in our lobby, you’ll see earrings and ornaments for sale. If you are interested in stopping by the studio to purchase one of these unique items, then please e-mail or call us (at 704-846-2985).

Our Dance Studio in Charlotte Parade

Our studio is a proud member of the Charlotte community, and we like to be involved in community events. So this week some of our dancers will be marching in the Lake Wylie Winter Parade! The parade is on Saturday December 4th at 11:00 AM. The Lake Wylie Elementary School PTSA will be selling hot chocolate and many local businesses will be involved, so it's going to be a fun event! So if you're in the area this Saturday, come by and see us! The parade will start on the front campus of Lake Wylie Elementary School. See you there!
